I've driven them with NA diesel & TD power. The NA was just a horrid thing, the TD was kind of funny as it was a horrid car utterly unable to handle the torque of the engine - 3rd gear wheel spins mid roundabout or corner were quite common.

Mines a na 1.9 but by this year the xud had been replaced by the dw8 which is a replacement for the xud. It seems a better engine than a na xud to be fair.

Berlingo has been a twat to start in the cold weather past few days. Thick exhaust smoke and smelling of unburnt diesel even after 8 cycles of glow plugs and diesel knock for a few seconds until idle has smoothed out. Brought some new glow plugs today. Complete twat of a job as they are under the inlet banana. Managed to snap a pipe to the egr too. Handy as I planned to disconnect and seal up the vac lines. Tested ohms on 4 plugs and 3 were out of range. that would explain alot. The 3 were also thick with carbon,1 was a dark grey. Usually a sign they arent working great. Fitted new ones and fired up a treat with no clag. Yay

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

No fires. Why would there be any fires from the glow plugs?

And anyway you bunch of tossers, my workmanship on my vehicle has never been a problem. It's my bad run of luck with vehicles failing not work I've done.

Insurance settled. 580 on escort because of historic cat c marker from 2016 and it's now a cat B. would have got more if not for the historic marker. At least its settled.

About ten times the price I'd imagine they'd pay out for it, so can't complain.

Isn't it a profit on buying it?
