Needs to be a bit warmer (for painting subassemblies) and needs me to find a lot of parts that I know I have but cannot reach. Plus working out was has gone MIA over the last 29 years and many moves.

Can I admit in this thread I like the Reliant 4 wheel vans? Absolutely shocked how much they originally cost though compared to a Sooty van, no wonder the bloody things didn't sell!

I had a Rebel van, cost more than a mini van,a few did sell perhaps 100,to those who didn't like welding. The Fox was always going to be low volume,it was never properly advertised, and was simply something for the ss1 builders to do in the winter when the scimitar wasn't selling.a few guys who worked there told me they would just clear an area and be told to build some foxes.

There were no Sooty vans on UK listings when the Rebel van came out of course....I don't know what the cubage was inside a Reliant but I bet it was comfortably more than a Mini. I have to say (without much factual backup) that a niche low-production and thus expensive fibreglass car (or van) probably lost a good deal of appeal with that 4th wheel.....

Right, here's a question for the Tamworth few.....I missed out on a brochure on Ebay recently which quoted a 4 wheel version of the Mk series Regal in van form. WTF was that? I was aware of the Autocars Sussita being a sort of 4 wheeled Regal body but never heard tell of a UK equivalent.....

Yes it was a sussita, made by Autocars in Israel iirc, they later made the Carmel which looks like a four wheeled 3/25. Reliant did have one of the earlier vans at their factory as a works van.

Oh, cheers....That may have been an extremely scarce brochure then, it appeared to be definitely a UK market publication. Bugger that I didn't get it, somebody chipped in at the last minute in what must have been the only two weirdos to want it.
