I'll add one (mistaken belief) -
Changing the oil water, brake fluid, washer fluid, coolant and the inert gas in the tyres every few minutes will prevent OMG HGF in a KV6.

This weeks Classic Car Weekly has a fact* for this thread. David Simister has made up that Mk2 Carltons are a Pininfarina design!

Probably based on the fact that GM engineers and designers used Pininfarina’s wind tunnel to perfect the aerodynamics. Interesting that once in print it becomes fact and some people will no doubt be repeating this gem at car shows in the near future
