Re: Sub Par Cars
I don't really understand why he got so pissed off but there are some right chancers about at the moment offering half the asking price then complaing when you won't accept it. The number of pennyless cunts I have had on the Bentley is amazing. Another chancer prepared to help me out today. He doesn't really want it but will give me 3.5k just cos thats all it's worth mate. Blocked the cunt now, I could break it and make more than that but they just don't see that. He even came up with some bollocks about buying and selling them 5 years ago for 1500 as they were the least desirable. The breakers have always paid 1500 plus for years.

Aye, I've never understood that.
I only entertain adverts for cars where I can comfortably afford the full asking price (but might still offer a tiny bit less for tradition's sake).
I know for a fact I couldn't even entertain the idea of buying a Bentley, let alone running it!

Re: Sub Par Cars
Looks like I'll be collecting something Italian from Tamworth. Conveniently much closer to our planned route.
Alfa 147 2.0 Twinspark Lusso with 56k miles and MOT until March 2022. It's even got a coating of underseal after a couple of small patches of welding. The MOT is clean as a whistle. Recent timing belts and all 8 spark plugs too.
How much? £800. Deposit paid, with balance on collection. It's also from the beige so the seller is understanding around the mad collection mission going on and the uncertain timescale.
I actually test drove one last summer and it was rapid, but had a few issues. This one has none of the issues that one had.
Way better than a flippin' Corolla. Well, at least in fun factor, perhaps not reliability.

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

That Twinspark motor sounds fantastic. I had a 2 litre 156. It didn’t end well. I’ve still got the bent in half and twisted con rod in the shed. I’ll take a photo sometime.

Cleaner underneath than most cars in Aberdeen 5 minutes after they roll off the forecourt...

Looks like good fun.
Good luck!
And I’ve got no room to talk, I’ve got a bloody Jaaag in the garage. Talk about playing Russian Roulette with an engine!

Re: Sub Par Cars
That looks very smart.
I had a '97 146 about ten years ago with the 2.0 tspark.
It went very well and made a lovely noise. I hammered it a lot with zero issues.
