Still on the fence with that Clubman.

I like it and appeals because it looks pretty original and went for a good price for a pre-80s last time around. However I'd still much prefer a roundnose Mini and feels like I'm compromising rather than just waiting to see what comes on. I could sell it if something more what I'm after comes on, but I CBA with the hassle and tend not to do that with cars.

It's over in Chichester which is a good 6hr round-trip to take a look too. Then the logistics of getting it home, as if I've just paid for it, I'd want to remove it from the current owners hands straight away. Believe it's been in a garage for the last few years, so I'd want to give a day dedicated for getting it home in case of issues.

Pretty much all the others mentioned previously in this thread has now sold. So stuff doesn't seem to hang about.

Was in a flipping meeting when this ended. Sold for £3900. Last time it went for £4950. Even less want for a estate clubman, even is Mrs SiC would like this the most probably. But that sold for a bloody good price.

Problem is, you don't know what someone else bidded. I've bidded the other clubman up to £3300 and I'm still not the highest bidder. I'm not bidding any more and pushing that one up further 🤔

This is pretty much spot on what I'm after except maybe a Webasto, but I'm not going to be picky on that. Not perfect by any stretch but not messed with either. By the sounds of it, an old boy who has owned it for most of its life and buzzed around locally with it.

Just arranged a time to go view. Having to do through the son-in-law who will phone up (presumably) old boy. I guess the only sticking point maybe the price. The starting price (reserve not met) is what I really would have liked to pay for it tbh.

Don't worry we will all hate it. It looks nice and original but also looks a bit rotten around the rear valance and the o/s/f sill. The bumpers should be chrome on a mayfair I think which makes you wonder why it has painted "city" bumpers. Just have a real good look over it at least it isn't full of filler and shiney paint just yet.

It looks okay and a good basis for improvement. Take £3000 in cash and try to bag it there and then. That's all its money really. Champagne beige and the Gayfair trim is quite plush. It looks original. 998 A+ and it'll be the high geared Metro HLE spec.

The black bumpers are correct.

Sounds daft but make sure you reverse it. It you hear a weird noise as it goes backwards and a rattle in 4th gear, the gearbox mainshaft bearing is fucked. Big job and quite common on the A+ boxes.

It's a bit tatty, and £3000 buys a tatty 1275 Cooper.

And I completely understand why. It'll be the same in 10-15 years when someone says they're heart is fluttering at the thought of going to buy a Fiesta MK4/Corsa B/etc. Or even now when people get excited to see a fucking Nova. I'll be saying the exact same wtf to those that do.

Yeah saw the crustyness and the MOT history isn't exactly spotless either. Nearside front wing looks to be breaking through on the paint too. It's why I reckon really it's a 3k car.
