It's a bit tatty, and £3000 buys a tatty 1275 Cooper.
Really useful to know. Especially done a fair few miles now and old boy owned.

I've not seen a three grand Cooper for quite a while!

Google images is great for searching on car reg. They must do OCR on images.

It's wrong. The HL arrived late 1980 with the A+, then the HLE in early '82 with the 2.9 diff and the Mayfair replaced that just after the Y plate arrived. They are geared to do around 19 mph/1000 in top. On the City E with the central speedo, you could wind it up to an indicated 100+ on a downhill section of the M40.

Is this better? DVLA prefix the engine number with zero but looking at the picture, it doesn't appear to have it.

Code: Select all

Source Vehicle : Mini
Engine type & CC : A+ 998 cc Transverse mounted
Fueling :

Engine features :
Lucas 16AC alternator with -ve Earth
1st Alternative compression ratio
Mechanical petrol pump
ADO 20 Design variants

Gearbox features :
Std. Ratio Rod Change gearbox with Pot Joints
2.95:1 Final Drive
Twin carb with RC40 and other necessary changes = possible to read half a tank? (If it had the appropriate Speedo)

It doesn't need twin carbs, the 1.5" HIF flows more than enough air.

I'd dread to do more than 80 in a Mini these days tbh.

I don't think I have ever got to 80 in a Mini, although it felt like it. Anything above 40mph and the speedo needle just used to wave about randomly.
There is a lovely 1963 Morris Mini Traveller on ebay at the moment, it's the twin of the one I used to learn to drive in and have the use of as my first car. Sadly they want nearly £16k for it and some idiot put a glass sunroof in it

Some fucker has bidded on it already. However it does appear the reserve must have been £3050.

Earliest I could get them to say I can view it is on Friday. Not going to bid or offer anything without seeing it in person though. Might be a right patch fest underneath.
