Excellent I look forward to a sand rail or a Baja kit in the near future.

It's a terrible shame the new beetles can't be donors in the same way

Was it an Irish assembled car, or had they stopped making them in Dublin by 1972? I like that colour, one of my brother’s had a fastback that colour, which was the only rear engined car I’ve ever driven that felt nice to steer ( and yes that includes Skodas and 911s) probably because it was a one owner meticulously maintained car, until my brother messed about with it, anyway.

That is lovely. Whenever I was over (once a week in 2016-2017) I used to buy a copy of Irish Vintage to read in the airport - there are some stunningly preserved old cars on the island. I always fancied one of those places you see out in the sticks with a massive shed in the garden - I bet there are few gems in those.
