Cars you have yet to love or hope to love again.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

20+ years in the motor trade, and I've driven just about everything. Very few things are really worth the candle. But that doesn't stop me me constantly looking for something new (I mean used).

Never owned a Xantia Activa and would probably hate it as I never liked my XM V6

Previously owned Minis and would like one again having had Mini 1000, 2x 1275gt & Clubman Estate (also Metro 1000 & MG Metro) so would like to try one of the newer Sport Pack Minis.

Also previously owned Mk3 & 4 XR3i so would like one of them again or an RST.

We ran one of these for a couple of years and used it for work for a while as our everyday car. The 16mpg was worth it just to watch the bonnet rock from side to side when it was blipped at the lights.

A great car in every way and a pleasure to own.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Loved driving Xantia and C5s. Never drove an Activa however.
Loved 1275 Minis on 12". Hated sports packs. Found 1-litres too under powered for daily use.
Drove a couple of V6 Sierras and Grannys. Never like them. 2.0 models were quite nice however.

Most unlikely car that I found to be just lovely? Enjoyable at any speed? Mazda 323s. The ones with the very narrow headlamps, the first to come from Mazda's German studio.

Interesting, what was wrong with the sports pack (before I buy one)?
My Mini 1000 had a modified head and it would take the speedo around into the fuel guage haha

13” wheels and butchered wheel arches mainly.

Handling isn’t great and although it looks good from certain angles it can look like a midget wearing a top hat when seen a certain way.

I’d still have one though tbh.

The ride, handling and steering are ruined by the 13" wheels. Aside from looking dreadful, the drag increases massively, yet the gearing is also longer, so they've got not accelerating. Just awful. And I owned one. You wouldn't see which way a Metro GTI went.
