I think that Malcolm Sayers aerodynamics experience overrode good style there. Some of the modified Eagle ones look good, with wider tracks, but I agree with you about the track being too narrow.
Given Sir William Lyons penchant for saving halfpennies I wonder if he approved it as it saved a bit of material?
I'd still love one though.
They were about the same price as my MGB, as were Elans, when I bought it but insurance was unobtainable for me due to my age. I wouldn't have been able to afford to keep it either, trainee accountants were just above slave labour in the salary stakes, especially when they have day release.

Lancia 8.32. One of my cousins in Italy had one as well as a V6 Thema. We went out in them back to back 8.32 first. It was so disappointing. Harsh jiggly ride, uncomfortable and it didn’t feel very special. It did make a nice noise though.
The V6 was totally different. Smooth, comfortable ride. A much nicer thing altogether.
Another of my cousins also had an 8.32. They won it in a competition on a Grappa Piave bottle. That one was never driven, sold on almost immediately.

Now this is funny (peculiar) having not even half thought about a GT6 until looking at this thread yesterday, today I saw one! No pictures as I was gasping up a hill on my bike, but it was a white Mk3 with black racing stripes and roundels and generally a bit Barry'd up. My mate had one when I had a Mini 1275GT. The Mini was faster and could leave it behind easily on any twisty road plus the GT6 had no space inside with that huge transmission tunnel (also his was brown).

Thirsty and slow not many toys for a 'premium' car. Disappointed in the V8 too.
I got it off my hellcat mate. He likes to bling them up (spoil them).

To me the vast majority of toys in a car only serve to ruin them by cluttering the dashboard for no gain.
The most annoying thing with these cars is the temp gauge won't stay set to exterior temp & you have to select it every time you start them.

It was standard other than the wheels. No idea what they were off. You even had to use a lever and move the seats manually. Weren't heated either.
