Twatting thing is absolutely refusing to drag a drop of fuel thru the carb after jetting it out and rodding its holes as best as I can :-|

Does it have a fuel pump or just work off gravity from the tank?

Gravity from the tank which is why it's making me scratch my head so much lol. It's such a basic design. I've cleaned the thing out, managed to get the mixture screw out and replace an o ring that was cracked that would have caused an air leak around it. The internet reckons 1.5 turns out from fully closed. I've put 2 big Jubilee clips on the inlet side rubber and although not perfect looks like it should create enough of a seal. I've then had it revving well on spray which should at least drag some fuel thru but nothing, it's a fucking venturi FFS lol
The drain was blocked on the bowl so I couldn't absolutely know if it was filling with fuel but I cleared that yesterday and rodded it out everywhere else as best as I could and still nothing.

I reset the trip on the V50 yesterday as needed to do 130 mile trip to pick some second hand stairs up. On that same route it used to get 37 to 38 mpg.

That ten quid second hand part is paying for itself

The journey back was via the Brecon Beacons and the road to Neath is highly recommended 😎 The slight* air dam effect on the roof knocked the overall trips mpg down to exactly 50 when I pulled up at home.

I may be trading it in for a ropy old 505 7 seater I'm going to see at the weekend?

Very possibly  A lad I know is having to get rid of a load of old cars he has collected for some reason, not sure of the ins and outs, he text me after I'd had a few last night.
The 505 is a non starter at the mo and has been for some time, he reckons it's got an air leak somewhere. It's got a rusty roof with hols in it and that's as much as I know.

It's decided it doesn't like the airbag system at the mo and I can't cancel the code. It repaid me with that just after passing the MOT. It's also now telling me it needs a service. I'll take the ECM out and clean it again when I can be arsed.

The neighbours V50 hasn't had the battery go flat in over a month now so calling that a win. Someone's clipped the mirror on it now so have got to replace that for her now.

Hang on, you've got it working & you're considering swapping it for a pile of french shit?

It's a Ford with a different lid on it and the worst engine in it that PSA has ever made.

Meanwhile the French piece of shit and it's predecessor were the backbone of transport in Africa for decades because they are so rugged. There's none left here as they all got exported out there! https://petrolicious.com/articles/where ... -hot-stuff

Plus I'm tempted as my old man bought a brand new H plate one. It comfortably trundled 2 adults, 4 kids and an Irish Wolfhound about and I have great memories of driving it sideways on a field on numerous occasions.
