How much does the powertrain weight? That lot there looks quite a lot alone.

What your see in that picture is 860 lbs. (390kg)

Car kerb weight is 3300 lb (1500kg).

The car weights no where near as much as I thought. Pretty much the same weight as our modern diesel A4 estate.

Yeah, it's not massively heavy, but does have very tall gearing.

Well, so far, unloaded, it appears to do everything it's meant to. The real test will be getting a bit of load on it when it's back in the car.
