Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain
Heater box is in, temperature control rod is repaired and connected. Air direction control rod next but after my torch fell down, rolled across the car's floorboard, out of the door and under the car for the third time I was losing the will to live, so that's a job for tomorrow.

Placed on a flat surface it rolls in a circle.
On the car floor it rolls directly towards the door at Mach 6.

Flashlight was launched across the garage in a fit of rage at it. It broke.
Good news is I got the heater connected up to all the air stuff and the linkages connected and adjusted.

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain
I put a Mexy blanket in my Cowley when I first got it on the road....Not to protect the upholstery but to be the upholstery. It looked like a 75-year old line dancer trying to be Willie Nelson so I took it out and got a couple of those tartan seat protectors for putting wet labradors on.
The upholstery is done now but it still needs sun protection....I use my Uncle's old Army blanket which has the added attraction of making the car smell like a shed on a hot day.
At least you have colour (sorry, color) co-ordinated....

Really depends on what you want and need. Cowley is really much more a tartan rug vibe; serape blankets like this are probably a bit thin and certainly the wrong kind of ethos. You could probably use falsa blankets if you wanted something different, they're more geometric and have a thicker weave.
This is the typical treatment for a vehicle like this, here. So, that's what it got. Granted, it's visually the most striking thing I've done to the car to date, but in 20 seconds they're able to be totally removed from the car if so required.
