Just bumped into this guy, the blue Oldsmobile was an "on the go" project back last year, it's nice to see it on the road now.

I got my 35mm photos back today.

First shot, screwing about in the garage getting used to the camera again.

Last picture on the roll as the sun was setting.

This was just a fun set of snapshots to see if the camera still worked after I changed the foam. There's still a small light leak that I need to find, but it's not a bad camera.

They look great. Far more realistic than digital if that makes sense.

Isn't film supposed to have better dynamic range (or something)?

It's better at dealing with bright lights, for sure.
The sunset picture of the back of the car at the baseball field, with the lights on my phone's CCD reads that as pink-ish white. Film records it as bright red, much more accurately.

For instance, digital:

The "look" of each is certainly different.

I must get some more 35mm and get my boot-sale Minolta going now that there is some daylight again. I've always found digital a bit harsh on colour, much prefer the softness of emulsion.

I took a look at the camera in light of this film roll; the fuzzy brush style seal on the left side of the back case was all flat so I fluffed it back up again. That's possibly where the light was getting in; the rest of the seals are good and tight since I changed the foam.

Shooting on film is fun.
