What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Would be very surprised if there is an airbag sensor in the sill. If you're worried, disconnect the battery before hand. Will need to do that if you're welding anyway.

Took the van to one of my friendly garages for an engine service. Rode my pushbike back home in the teeth of a headwind - I bet that bastard will turn round before I ride back to get it. I used to do my own oil changes on the T25 but two reasons have stopped me - one is a dodgy thread on the sump plug. It has been repaired but I don't bloody trust it and told the garage fella he was doing the oil in it from now on!

I did borrow a Pela once but the replenishment was far worse than getting it out - 45 degree angle on the filler pipe and in order to clear the surrounding bodywork I need another 30 or so degree of bend in the flexi-funnel. Pain in the arse.

While I am grumbling, all I have done with the camper this year is tax it, insure it, repair some domestic on-board wiring and plumbing and take it for a service. Not bad value for the three grand on bodywork before I SORN'd it last autumn. Haven't had a decent day since lockdown where I haven't been working - no gigs to go to in it either. Mrs Rocker gets tetchy when I mention selling it, we've already flogged the vintage caravan thing that didn't get used for 2 summers so I'm keeping my powder dry. For now.....
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

This one can join the pile of scrap removed from the Santa Fe.

And this disc can get added to the pile. The polished surface just started falling off in places while the car had sat dormant for a few months.

It's the boy's 17th birthday today so he got the £250 punto I picked up through the week. It failed its mot on Wednesday on exhaust leak and emissions. Previous owner had bodged a new flexi pipe section in. I'll try and improve the bodge with the welder and hope that it sorts the CO emissions too.

We had a mark1 Punto for 8 years from new.
It was a great little car, once taking us, the two boys, two dogs and all our gear on a static caravan holiday. It was also bloody reliable, far more so than the A class that replaced it.
