Lined the cars up for a better picture. They're all parked with their front wheels in a line.

Removed the Renault for a better shot of the back of the cars and how they compare length-wise.

I imagine the tarmac the car was sat on absorbed a lot of heat and radiating it off.

Bodged up the exhaust flange on the T25. For some unknown reason both bolts holding the exhaust flange to the exhaust port FELL OUT. I was worried one or more had snapped but if one has it has done so quite a way down the thread. Didn't want to disturb the system which resembles a steam-rollered octopus so I only had an eight-inch gap to work in a new gasket, line up new studs and thread them in.

The bottom one is a bastard as it is underneath the thermostat (not touching that!) and it didn't seem to thread in too cleanly and won't go all the way in. I've used s/s studs and copper nuts and at the moment it is running quieter than it has for a long time. I'll nip it all down again later in the week and pray that the use of stainless doesn't lead to OMG Snappage.

Engine is on 157,000 after a rebuild 70,000 ago which is bloody unheard of for one of these. At the moment it is showing signs of uneven compressions and a moderate lack of power but isn't overheating or losing/using coolant or oil. I think I might bite the bullet after Christmas and price up another rebuild/replacement. I did briefly think of getting another damper van but as most of them I can afford seem to be dogshit I may as well carry on with the Hitlermobile.

Auto box.
Seems coolant has got in the box via the oil cooler that sits on top of it.
Steam coming out the dipstick tube and no drive. It would drive after cooling down but slipping like mad, so I pulled over before I got out of the lay by.

Recovery was quick and I'm the 15 miles home already.
It drove into my driveway ok, so hopefully a change of oil will see it alright. Will need to fix the coolant and transmission oil mixing though. Hopefully seals can be had, if my diagnosis is correct.

Steam pouring out the gearbox is not something I was expecting to see!

My first thought was hgf until I opened the bonnet.

Didn't you have a lot of welding done on it?
