What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Monogram Horizon. Only 2 x ZT-T probably identical. And 2 x ZR one of which went to Germany.
After I wrote above I checked the MOT history of the twin ZT-T. Don't think there's much chance it'll be a breaker any time soon!!

This came today from Rimmers for the MGB. Not cheap but should be a worthwhile addition. It replaces the shagged out Lucas second hand distributor that I put on last year to replace the Chinese distributor that broke ... which replaced the truly knackered original Lucas distributor. Will be interesting to see how it drives with a working (rather than leaky) vacuum advance.

Fully programmable. But I'll probably just end up with some default setting and never change. 😄

When the engine is eventually pulled for a rebuild, I want Peter Burgess to sprinkle some magic on the head. Then I'll get a local Classic Mini rolling road to do some proper tuning on both the carbs and ignition timing. These units are well known enough for most places to be able to know how to program them.

I'd like to get one for my 1100 too, but that'd be 1/5th of the cars value on its distributor.

I looked into getting one for my GS. There isn't one with the right body and so to get a custom one built into an existing body was something like 425 yo-yos, add post and it was €450. I've a better / more economical plan that hasn't been actioned yet.

I've got a 123 on my VW T2.

It's been on there about 7 years now and has been perfect.

This was just under £320 shipped from Rimmers after discount. The non programmable one was £250 and Bluetooth one £360. Wasn't bothered about the Bluetooth one as it had no USB connectivity in addition. From experience with mobile app development, there would be good chance that if they don't continue developing for newer devices, the app will end up not working after a couple of years.

Will be interesting to see if there is any difference in performance or engine responsiveness between the two. Timing should be a lot more accurate and deterministic.

First thing I did was rip that shit out and throw it in the bin, then replace it with proper ignition.

^^^^ Obviously haven't had to deal with 'proper' ignition of the Ducellier or SEV Marchal variety. I can just about tolerate a 25D Lucas (they went to shit after that when the removed the vernier adjuster)

I do have a rather ancient Lumenition on a Volvo from nineteen canteen, still works fine and was able to get a replacement chopper when I was being a cack-handed twat one day.

Today I washed the Shogun, then used Autoglym red, then autoglym gold on it. I can't stop my arms and hands going into cramp. I washed it, clayed bar'd it and red autoglym'd it the other week in preparation.
