What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Went to storage and put a dust sheet over the Boxster. Where I store my cars is an old battery chicken shed. The cages are still above the shit pit (where the cars are) and oil has a habit of dripping down onto the cars. Not great.

Hopefully this cheap and very thin dust sheet from Toolstation will prevent this happening. Also be thin and light enough that it doesn't scratch or damage the paint.

Also checked on the MGB. Still there and happy. But the roasting trays keep blowing away and leaving the oil to drip on the floor. It's a term of the conditions for the storage to make sure that doesn't happen. I'll have to find some heavier trays.

Oven trays, proper ones not the Ali foil type, or the round plastic spot boards they use for mixing mortar on will find a link.

Oof that's more than I wanted to pay. I was hoping to get a grow-bag tray but they have been surprisingly vacant in the shops this year.

There's not space to put half a brick or something like that in them?

Add some kitty litter to the tray to weigh it down?

Brick is really close to scraping the bottom of the car. Cat litter ended up everywhere.

I use old cardboard but where it might blow away use wood, like a bit of ply. It absorbs the oil and you don't have to clean tins or trays. Only has to be wide enough as the sump and transmission. This has the double bonus of being totally FREE.

Picked up a cheap bootlid for the Jag yesterday. It's by no means perfect and very slightly a lighter shade. However it has tidied up the back end immensely. Next job is to locate a decent bumper. I'll get the original bootlid repainted at some point and put back on, this was just a cheap fix.
