I actually had a productive day......once I managed to get off my arse. Didn't fancy doing anything as its as windy as fuck but once I got myself out there is was fine.
Stripped the front hubs off the Chevy and gave everything thing a freshen up. Wheel cylinder pistons out for a clean up and thoroughly dusted everything out.
I even polished the wheels and hubcaps inside and out.
Finished off by giving the front end a grease up.
Rears tomorrow if the weather stays dry......

Mine started off productive... Changing the heater valve on the Cowley, they are pigs to get off because the bolt heads are very slim and have slots cut in them which make you think they will budge with a screwdriver. Didn't fall for that, but the surrounding casting won't allow use of sockets or rings - the bottom one is impossible without removing the dizzy. Anyhoo, it all came apart OK but then I find the new valve is wrongly-handed - must be for another B series application probably something with rotary controls.
Will speak to NTG again on Monday and see what gives. Did a bit of die-cast fettling instead and stripped some stuff down to work on tomorrow....

Replaced the front bumper on the green un. I was flabbergasted that it actually fitted considering it was the product of the good bits of four separate bumpers, that and that I had welded captive nuts back in the right place on the front valance. It's even straight and level!

Not heard you mention the Chevy for ages. Was it a Two-Ten? Anyway, a photo would be much admired.Alf892 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 6:25 pm I actually had a productive day......once I managed to get off my arse. Click reply, then maybe click 'full editor' (I really should sort that so it's consistent) click attachments just under the textbox & upload any size pic (it auto resizes it as it goes).

Re: What did you do today?
Emptied the garage today and pressure washed it. Not sure what I'm going to do with the appliances when I get around to painting it. Might have to paint around it, wait for it to dry and then paint where the appliances are.
Everything that was in the garage has ended up in the shed. In clearing out the shed, I found a can of floor paint. Handy!
