I've found the big end bearings on my replacement engine are shot and the crank is scored.

The fact all my Triumph OHV motors are fucked in the same way is suggesting a weak point in the design...

The replacement engine was free and of unknown quality to be fair.

It's not the end of the world, maybe £150 for a crank grind and shells, are the main bearings ok?

Sent the broken ioniq into dealers last night,got it back today. Apparently no throttle response when on bypass trying to pass a lorry, thumping into first gear and abysmal fuel economy is down to ECU needing an update. How fucking often are updates needed? Car is 3 months old with 3.5 k on the clock.
