I've cleaned dozens of air mass meters with FORTE air-take, with no issues. I've got some here now, but in lieu, brake cleaner would work

It'll be shit and worse than you've got on there already. MAF is one of those parts that needs to be genuine Bosch/Denso/Delphi/etc.

Don't go spraying the wrong shit on it as it contaminates them and also can damage the plastic, depending on the solvent. A can of the correct spray is much cheaper than a new MAF.

Is it even dirty?

It did't look dirty but then again I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

I bought a clio 1.2 16 valve over the weekend a fairly tidy little estate for not a lot of money. It has a misfire and no mot so was scrap money. I was kind of hoping a new coil pack would sort it out, some lying fucker had already been there and tried it so off came the head. Is it really tight of me to just replace the one burnt out valve.

Aren't those engines supposed to have the clearances set after like 80k miles or so but no-one bothers as treated like disposable cars?

It ain't going to be worth much, so doesn't make sense to replace the others if they're in good shape surely?

No just do what is necessary, I would regrind the others though and fit new valve stem oil seals.

The valve springs aren't very tight as you can turn the springs by hand. I am a bit of a lazy sod so one new valve and lap it in will do. The rest is ok and it isn't much of a job to do if it goes wrong again. It is more a chunk missing rather than burnt there is no other damage so hopefully it will be ok.

New sill welded on the van and both front and rear subframe mounts repaired. I'm hoping that's all the welding done on the nearside. Then got on with modifying the front crash beam so the pignose front end will fit correctly.
