What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Bought another car today. Bought it blind 500 miles away so I just have to organise shipping. I wasn't going to buy it but the car trader next door loves it and wants to go halves so that put it within budget.

Took the C15 for its MOT today. A clean pass! It's going back on the road next week as the Jag is getting stored for winter.

A similar swap tale here....Van has gone off to winter storage so the Minor has come out to play. And be washed...No big deal except that I haven't done so for about a year and a half....It took us out for a pre-Xmas shop today, Mrs Rocker starts her caking and baking late November every year and we've got ourselves all pickle-and-relished up whilst the lockdown is keeping frightened people out of all the shops. Took a 30 mile tour of Forest village shops to get everything but a very pleasant morning.

As for Morris, I will probably get his bi-annual MOT done before Christmas and possibly think about tackling some brake work. Or then again I might just ask Kevin up the garage to do it. Fuck Morris Master cylinders - chassis-leg-dwelling bastards....

Thought 'fuck it!' and took the car out for a few miles to see if the pads/discs do/did need bedding in. After a few miles of varied use, they felt much better, so cancelled the appointment for them to be looked at on Wednesday. They still don't have the initial 'bite' of the old ones but actual braking is fine. Maybe that bite will arrive in time?

Filled with success(ish) I filled the car with petrol... £75 of super unleaded and that is the first time I've put fuel in it since the day before lockdown 1 !!!!!!! Was that back in March?

As I had no great desire to go indoors and listen to Pheobe squeaking at me to go to the park (starts about 11 and just continues...) I decided to paint the tiny bit of disc NOT cleared by the pads, then I did the backs as well then I did the mating face where wheels meets disc... I don't know, let me loose with a paintbrush and I'm a danger to motoring the world over!

I remember the master cylinder being under the drivers carpet on my minor. I had to fit new rear shoes and they were a bastard to get the air out of iirc. The eezibleed wouldn't fit. Can't remember why now though.

I sent a Z3 over the scales today after it had been stripped of its many valuable parts.

Was the hood damaged? Would have thought that had some value?
