What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Took the center console out of the daily and dismantled the cup holder, which has a light up ring so you can see it in the dark. I noticed the other day it was blotchy brown.
That'll be why, previous owner got coffee in it.
Cleaned it all out carefully and put it back together.

Bit nicer now, it's not all sticky and crumbs.

Why people do the coffee+danish pastry in their car up never know. Yuck.

European cars have their launch control hidden away with some secret sequence - ESP off, in Sport, brake fully down for 2 seconds, rev, magic dance, etc. Where as you just have a button that says "LAUNCH" :D

I know the European 'stangs can't have remote start, yet the USDM ones do. It was a handy function in the rental one we had when coming back to the car in Death Valley and needing the aircon on for a bit before getting in. Also it was great for making people jump when nosing at a car, not thinking anyone is in it.

Yup. Push button. It says "Full Halt. Depress brake. Steering straight.
Full throttle and release brake within 6 seconds to launch"

Simple really. It'll kill the throttle if you hold it too long to save boiling the gearbox.

This one has remote start- you can only get it on automatics- and here too it's nice. Winter it heats the cabin up and defrosts the glass, summer it cools things down.

Washed and cleaned the big cat and put away for winter. Waiting for him to dry fully so the winter cover can go on. I'm going to miss using him every day over winter.

That reminds me, I've got a decent outdoor cover for a LWB X308. I really should flog it as I'll never use it.

No mine is just a swb xj8 model. It comes up on DVLA as sovereign but apparently a lot of the early ones do. It's a basic model with no frills.
