What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

To be honest given the amount of money it might be I wouldn't be happy to sell unless somebody had looked at it before buying/ sorting out transport.
Maybe I'm old fashioned?
Could they be worried about a scam?

Part of the reason why I phoned rather than did all this by messaging. Gives a bit more creditability hopefully.

Like Eddie said, it's just an old codger and the usual trouble you get from them when trying to do anything involving them. Not a bad price though and pretty much what I want, so giving it a bit more time. Plus even though there is bargains at this time of year, there is also a lot less around to potentially buy and much quieter.

Started to fit the parts I got from the scrappie yesterday to the Matiz. Air filter box looked easy, ha, ha. Couple of hours later it was done but the "new" one had half the screws seized in and as I didn't want to brake it ('cause the existing one is already broken for the same reason), I ended up using the pillar drill, hacksaw, sockets, screwdrivers, hammer and finally the finest* quality Chinese gas powered soldering iron / flame thrower to get it to pieces carefully. Only needed the tap and die set and a little* glue and it's now fitted.

Happy days

The cone filter would be worth more than the car. Anyway, my Mrs is away for a couple of days, kept me out of the pub.

The old filter box had loads of holes drilled into it to do that. Personally, having a big bore exhaust on a Seicento is far more fun in terms of turning heads (didn't make the bastard go any quicker.

After a year or so of putting it off, I changed the injector seals on my Defender (Td5) this morning. I wasn’t really in the mood as I have got a sore throat and not feeling exactly chipper but it was in the workshop at work so might as well get it done. Not too bad a job, extracted the injectors with the help of a right angled screwdriver. Seals were easy to do and the wiring harness and cover gasket were changed. Hopefully cold weather starting will improve. I changed the glow plugs last year but they didn’t make a great deal of difference so this was the next step.

Got a little model from a garage sale. It's missing a few pieces, so why not have a bit of fun?
