What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Yeah. I've driven it to the carwash and back, it just doesn't give power over about 3K under load.
Revs freely with no gear selected.
Battery reset tried.

They always say MAF can cause problems and often break. Disconnect and see if it improves things. Or make things worse.

Going to have another look at the throttle body, I may have upset something there whilst getting to the starter motor.
I did find some loose jubilee clips on the throttle body rubbers and tightened them.
MAF next.

Throttle body on mine can be reset by turning the ignition on without starting the engine. After about 30s you'll hear it doing the cycling to find the throttle limits. Iirc the red warning lights on the dash go off at the same time.

Still working absolutely fine. Looks like Euros and other retailers have similar part too.

Also goes without saying to check the starter relay. Checked the clutch switch too? Iirc your gen has them and needs it to start.

All relays were tested, none found to be broken.
40A fuse in the rear relay tray was found to be blown.
Replaced, still no difference.

It'll be the weekend now before I can get near it again. Had the day off today and employed someone else to help, so need to go back to work and earn some more money.
Not least as I have another incoming project I'm far more interested in.

I did go to Swindon to look at a car, I was worried that it would be too nice for me, I think it probably is but I have bought it anyway. Should be down with me by the weekend. Photos added are not mine (I forgot to take any) but from when it didn't sell at auction last year.

As with all old cars there is a story why it's had lots of work done and then been left. I'm pretty sure I remember this being up for sale ten years or so ago in a much rougher state.
