The TL1000 had a reputation for doing it, wether it was deserved or owner inspired I have no idea. I think later ones for a steering damper as standard.

Wasn't the fault with the TL the radial rear damper (no idea sorry) overheating & causing the handling to go to shit?

Yeah, it was the rear shock like a door closer.

Hmm not likely to affect me then - unless the effects of the poor bike trying to drag my portly frame through the air caused it.

I've just realised it wasn't a deauville me old chum turned up on 30 odd years ago.

It's was a Benly. Twin cylinder CD200.
