Got back from a 5,500 km round trip to Czechia on the Dullville. Not the most thrilling of bikes BUT any bike that allows me to ride for 10 to 12 hours a day and be able to do the same day after day is a winner.
Had to rush back yesterday as had commitments at home today. So Millau in France to near Elche in Spain in one hit, just stopping for fuel (no shortages here!).

I did near Millau to Faro in Portugal in one hit. 1100 miles in 20 hours. I had planned on taking three days but the first two people I spoke to in Spain were so bloody rude that I didn’t want to spend any more time, or money, in their country than I had to.

Funny that's how I treat france, for much the same reason. Plus everything is always shut.

Funny that's how I treat france, for much the same reason. Plus everything is always shut.

Even more is shut now, lots of the village patisseries that were forced to close at the beginning of covid, have never reopened. Sad. But yes, stopping in rural France on a Sunday and Monday nights will mean very few places open to get food.

Today I finally took the clocks apart for my 14 to fix the broken inner casing with the magic glue suggested by a mate in the owner's club.

The stuff actually works too! Somehow after trial fitting all the bits several times to make sure I knew which way to wiggle them all in, the last bit wouldn't fit once glued. About 20mins careful filing got it to shape again though & in it went. As tempting as it is to rebuild the clocks tonight, I'll leave them to make sure it's totally dry & solid. But provided they fit back together ok in the cases Seth also gave me, than they can go back on the bike. I priced up the part out of interest & it's £90 for a bit of plastic so this is well worth trying.

That'll just leave fitting the replacement headlight I've got & awaiting the tank back from a friend who is welding the leak & damaged mount I found when I took it off.

It's in danger of getting back on the road again...
