Jag XF, much much worse than the proper XJs it effectively replaced. Just cheaper inside, worse driving position etc etc

I drove a new Bentley Continental GT V8 back in 2014.

Priced at £125,000 or thereabouts, it was discernibly worse in almost all respects than my 1994 Vauxhall Calibra V6.

There was such a lot wrong with it IMO that I'm not going to list it all here, but the one thing I really disliked about it is that the steering did not become firmer at higher speeds. If I'd sneezed during a brief 3-figure blat down a local motorway I suspect I'd have ended up in the Armco.
On the road:
1998 Disco 4.0 V8 (manual)
1994 Vauxhall Calibra 3.0 V6

Running but need fettling:

1986 Honda CBX750F
1991 Maserati 222 SE
1990 Yamaha XJ900F

Tax & MOT-exempt, woohoo!

1982 Suzuki GSX1100SZ Katana

Totally agree on Mercedes but then again us British are fooled into thinking that they are luxury cars so I was bound to be disappointed. Come at them knowing that they are purely designed to be long lasting taxis then they are fine, but luxury cars? No.

BMW525e.

Geared for maximum economy and with a suspension that made blancmange look rigid.

W126 300SE Merc. Just horrid. Did people really buy these??

Volvo 740. Like a very well made Mark 3 Cortina.

Alfa 145, flat 4. The bitter disappointment. Was this really the best they could do?

Fiat X1/9. Fucking hell. Once you got the piece of shit started........

E60 5 Series. Apparently, this represents progress over the E39. Trust me on this - it's not.

Never meet your heroes, the Bond Bug, I waited too long before I bought one, I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that, also see Mini Moke.

I drove a Maxi 1750 many moons ago, I felt embarrassed just getting into it. It was rather good in a pretending to drive using armchair, two cushions and a saucepan lid kinda way. A bit like a car designed by Clement Atlee and made in a boat yard.
Actually it was fairly crap.
