My dad had a R21, it dumped it's brake fluid and set light to itself at 70ish mph.

Out of all the vehicles that I struggle to understand why they are so expensive, these top it.
Surely the population base that remember these when they were new/current and is still able to drive it, is thinning out a lot now.

The one-armed bandit had one of those Monacos. Came to an end due to OMGHGF. He replaced it with a slighty temperamental Clio auto after that.

The population base that remember those would never pay that sort of money to relive the experience, I think it is just the scooter/OMG cute bollocks that has fucked so many other things up.SiC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 2:00 pm Out of all the vehicles that I struggle to understand why they are so expensive, these top it.

Abandoned seized-up and rusted Isettas, Heinkels and their ilk used to litter the countryside like the the aftermath of WW2 when I was growing up. I know everyone says "wish I had taken it home" but I did take half of them home in bits and then promptly threw it all on the tip when I left home.

I mean I'd like to have a go in one, but actually spending any money on them?! Even dividing the price by 10, it'd still be a big fat no.

Were bmw not involved with them? I remember a wheeler dealer where they flogged one to the bmw museum at the end.

Re: EBay Finds
Yeah BMW took over Isetta manufacture from the mid 1950s. They were a Renzo Rivolta design - Isetta from I.S.O. or Iso of later Grifo fame.
That one is one of the Brighton cars manufactured in one of the old railway wagon works until the early Sixties.
BMW did a long-wheelbase one as well, called the 600. There was a fella in our village had one - and a '59 flat-top Impala. His driveway looked ace.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THISTo aid our wedding business we had the mini professionally wrapped to mimic Mr Bean's iconic mini from the 80's television series and the vehicle is currently registered with a private plate (BBE4N). This is not included with the sale but is available for a small additional fee.
