A Snip. That's what anyone considering putting a bid on this needs.
Seller needs the Snip for that "Here we have" intro....

I remember the Nelco version of these being lined up outside our local community centre as a kid and getting shit from my Mum because I wished I was disabled so I could bomb around in one instead of having to walk home.

They were uniformly Black as a witch's hat and usually driven by black-clad old women who for all I knew were probably witches.

Make a nice colour-matched pair, though, wouldn't they - that and the Atlantic....

I can remember a few of these open contraptions on the road when I was a kid. One was in the next village, Villiers powered. Once a week the elderly disabled owner drove it the 3 miles to the nearest town with his Mrs hanging on the side, her large arse perched on the armrest. With today's coppers you wouldn't have a leg to stand on, and the driver back then didn't either.

You could have a 'whale' of a time in this.
My dad had an Atlantic in the 60s. Power windows and roof and he reckoned it would do the ton.

I think the hardtop centre back window powered down, too....Awesome thing for 1948 and imagine seeing not only this car but the XK120 at that first post-war Earls Court Motor Show in 1948.

Although not a huge sales success, as Squire points out, particularly in its target USA market it did gain some reflected publicity for the Austin range in America where the Devon and Dorset were big sellers.

Really, you sound exactly like your typical miserable rude dealer, with a helping of pig headed ignorance on the side.

"As far as an in-depth description is concerned I am not going to mess around by trying to describe every single nut and bolt to cater for the pedantic natured amongst us"

"Personally I like a classic to look used as opposed to a trailer queen but I appreciate we all have our differences."

A pile of shit then.

I better not post a picture of this shit and I can't quite believe it has a reserve, maybe not so surprised some idiot has bid on it though. I think 400 quid may be a bit extravagant to spend setting fire to a load of scrap and fibreglass.
