A bit tricky to fit a transverse A-series under that bonnet.

How the fuck did this sell for £3k or anywhere near close to that. Absolute garbage cars from when they came out the factory! Ugly, badly made, rusty, crap engines and awful awful interiors. It's not even that low miles either.

The only good thing about them was that they apparently caused Ford to create the Focus.

The Ford scene tax makes the VW one seem infinitesimal now. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out over time and how much has been driven by enthusiasts and how much by speculators. I tend to suspect the after effects of the sniffles may have an impact.

I can understand it to a degree with proper RWD Escorts. They are great fun cars & have such a following in motorsport, but these late Escorts are just crap.

A large amount of it must be due to the halo effect from those RWD cars. A few people got lucky with those so now Joe Gimme thinks every low mileage Ford shopping trolley has to be "worth hanging on to". Having said that, I see it sold in Portsmouth. They still think Mk6 Escorts are posh down there.
