V4 needs a bit of work, but it is just a bit more interesting to me than an Anglia or a mini.

That Lancia is nice but a bit dear with the issues. It would certainly be far more interesting than a bloody Mini though.

A roll cage, it must be pumping nearly 45bhp through that 3 speed plus overdrive box. Interesting car.
I much prefer these to the 105E. They were far less rot prone.

Me too. I had a black 2 door, they engine was liveable with, only the two bottoms and a top gearbox let it down. Discounting Transits, I've never owned a Ford that wasn't a side valve.

One of these briefly passed through my hands on its way to be exported to Australia.

It didn't feel very special to drive. Yes, it was powerful but didn't feel very fast, a bit like a V12 XJS.

It drove like every other RWD Mercedes built between 1985 and 2005, especially the steering which had that couple of inches of dead travel before the rear suspension wakes up.

Reserve yourself a seat at the top table of two wheeled masculinity.

Was it the R or the S that had the glorious reputation of being able to go lock to lock at 100mph while the rider hung on for dear life? Talk about a slapper!
