MGC has the six cylinder engine in. Rare and only made for (iirc) 2 years. Probably about right for the money but you can get a V8 for that which is reportedly a better car.

Apparently too front heavy with that boat anchor up there. Also power to weight the 1800 is similar. Downton tune the MGC and the car has what it should have left the factory with.

When I was in the MGOC years ago the few people with them said it was more GT than sports car but handled a lot better than folklore says. Allegedly the original press reports were down to the cars being delivered to them with the front tyre pressures too low.

I do know the tweaked ones used to go damn well down fun roads & make an excellent noise.

The price of 'classics' on ebay seem to have trebled lately. There's an mg montego on there for 11k!
