Re: EBay Finds
The Alpine's are nice old things I still have a couple of repair panels for one. I had the red one as parts for the blue one but never finished them. The blue one had been in a garage in south London for about 30 years before I got it.

Re: EBay Finds
Don't think I've ever driven one....Which is either meaning they are forgettable or not entirely shit. I like them, though and definitely Would and I suppose 10k is about the going rate in all probability. There seem to be a lot of parts around for Rootes stuff if not on the BMC/Triumph level.

Re: EBay Finds
They were popular in America iirc, so I guess plenty over there to keep the parts manufacturing going.

Re: EBay Finds
I've never driven one but at the time some misguided souls reckoned that they were better than a MGB.
With a 4.2 or 4.7 in the front I'd agree though.

Re: EBay Finds
I actually did know a fella who changed from an MGB to an Alpine....Lived next to my Aunt. I never thought to discuss his decision with him as I was only about ten years old. If it is any help though, he went from the Sunbeam to a Ford Taunus, probably about the only UK-supplied one I can ever remember....

Re: EBay Finds
I wish! I've promised to Mrs Sic that I'll sell the 1100 to pay for the BMW. That hasn't happened yet, but probably will need to happen in the not to distant future.
I have gone a bit too gungho buying cars the last 24 months or so.
That implies the stuff I've bought is high value! What I've spent is probably still less than you've paid out so far to get your MGB back on the road.

Re: EBay Finds
And it's still not back on it.
If the Hooli sniffles had held off for about another couple of weeks it would have been. Still, given all the shit in the world it's inconsequential.
