Is described as David Brown Thresherman. I'd never heard of that - familiar with the Cropmaster and the industrial version the RAF used to tow planes.

Lo and behold this one was new to the Air Ministry and probably later converted for Threshing duties -

They're odd things to drive as you sit on the offside with both feet together. There's not room for a pair of brake pedals, normal for tractors, so the brakes can also be applied independently by a hand lever on each side. The steering wheel is offset to the driver' s left, otherwise there wouldn't be room to climb aboard. Mine wasn't this model but the 2 seater cowled layout was the same and it proved very awkward in use. It was a also very early diesel, only mustering about 25bhp.

PS. I think George's Roesch had a hand in the design of these things, but its unlikely to be acknowledged by a Talbot owner.

A lot of this old plant strikes me as very awkward and uncomfortable for the operator to use, which is unfortunate considering most would have a long stint at the controls.

Less uncomfortable and painful than doing it by hand though

We didn't, slavery in England was illegal from the time of Elizabeth I as far as I'm aware.

This has appeared at a garage round the corner from me. Belonged to a local old boy and was a regular at shows until he stopped driving in 2017 and sat in his garage until his death in October. Was originally up for £10,000 but they seem to have decided that was too cheap...

I have mixed feelings about that price increase. It stops many people to have the ability to buy the car and enjoy classics. However at the same time, the expensive nature of it leads it to "have value". So far more likely to be loved and cared for, rather than mucked around with and left to rot on a driveway because "it's just an old worthless car".
