Protective plate over the brake light switch of the late S2A and S3 Land Rover I would have thought.

(Mine's the Anorak with Three Brios in the top pocket and the Ski Pass Pocket on the sleeve...)

doesn't look like it, that part number would be 569201 and looks different

from here and various other sources

bulkhead lifted off chassis once the mount bolts had been sliced, all stripped down it doesnt weigh a lot, easily done on my own

Engine was removed, but not before I drained 7 litres of water from the sump! this motor had a new steel exhaust on it, stickers and everything. Not a lot of use though. Manifolds are good though

LT95 was drained, no water, looks ok inside but weighs slightly more than the moon

out of 6 studs two managed to snap, will drill them out another day

chassis stripdown continued with cutting off loads of angle iron, and these truck arch liners

Green chunk on the back end of the chassis is one complete bobtail section that was welded onto the arse end of the original chassis. Idea is to cut it off and see what can be done to salvage the chassis back to original spec.

parts 2

Thought that I would strip the engine down, anticipating that the block will be scrap but there are other bits that I can use

with the heads off easy to see why it is seized, the sheer amount of sandy water in the cylinders suggests hydrolocked, big time. 3 cylinders still full of oribble gloopy water

bottom end looks oily, crank might be saveable, wont know until it comes out, as the engine will not turn there are 3 big end caps that need my stepped ring 1/2 spanner, which is at home. Bearings that came off are all back to copper but standard size. Sump and pick up can be reused.

new Borg and Beck clutch plate and cover are certainly going to be used again. flywheel has also had a skim and has perfect ring gear

heavy duty lifted springs removed, the blue is powdercoat over bare steel. they clean up nicely. no good for me though. Again I reckon they were new at the last time this car ran

Boge strut was removed and chassis rested down on to the axle bumpstops. keeps it mobile

boge strut is dead! rest of this lot can be cleaned up and will go back on.

steering box is free of nasty play and will be cleaned and reused.
