Looks like this little business is going well, with the quality of the work it should do too.

I've had a few hub seals go over the years, makes a horrible mess don't it? Some seals have the lip too deep towards the hub; The old leather type arn't always much good either, they wear out the 'land' quicker, but at least you can replace it. I've also had the double lipped ones leak.
I changed a rear one on my series today as the hub looked a bit oily at the back edge and sure enough it was one of the wrong 'uns.

My balls have seen better days but I'm not changing them. I've replaced lots over the years until I rebuilt a power harrow and had to buy a bucket of that grease.
One benefit of the job though is the opportunity to lose the ''railco' bush and replace with another taper roller. With radial tyres I've not found you need the built in drag of the bush, the relay does a good enough job of making the steering heavier.

New Landrover track rod came with grease nipples on; they won't even fit because the nipples would catch the chassis. In any case, there's plenty of grease left after half a century even though water had been getting in one of them. I considered removing the greaser and blocking up the hole, but decided against it as the pair from m the steering arm are the hardest to change and I'm thinking that these are all nipple but no decent rubber.

The holey nature of series ones makes work on the steering easy.

Just got my wheels powder coated and put 4 new Longdongs on the now lovely rims. I tried every trick to get them on the bead, bicycle inner tube in the well etc, but after ages pissing about took them into a depot this morning.

One bead cheat tank still didn't do the trick and eventually they went off to borrow another from a different firm.

It still took several attempts per tyre as each bloke has to let off at exactly the same time, and I'm fairly sure they don't want me to bring more shitty jobs to finish off...

The chaps I use in Devon are used to this kind of shit, mind you most Landy Rims that I take to them are riveted jobbies that need innertubes
