Not visible. The 'hinge' on the LH side for the backrest has play in it allowing the backrest to wobble & move back on that side. The whole section is welded together so no way to fix it quickly, or indeed see exactly what is wrong.

I'll keep the old frame & one day when I'm bored enough I'll grind the welds apart & have a look. I suspect a bushing in the reduction gear inside the hinge has gone missing some how.

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - In sewer ants

It's that time of year again to shop around for being ripped off the least over insurance.

My renewal came though cheaper than last year, only by about £15 but it still feels like a win, at £445. Confused got that down to £350 & there is a scheme via the IAM that promise to beat any price with Cornhill which has come out at £330. Considering the first year I got this car I couldn't get it under £500 that feels cheap & includes Class 1 use for work.

I'll try a few classic places but I think I'll struggle as it's my own car & I want business on it.

Insurance is just a form of gambling.

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - Structural Failure

Post by Hooli »

I noticed a structural failure today when walking past the car.

The structural duck tape had come off the rear corner. I've treated it with krust and replaced the tape. I will have to get it sorted one day.

No pics as my phone won't upload them, who runs this place?

I'm using aluminium speed tape as used for patching holes in aircraft hulls, it works well even in the British climate.

Depends on the way you look at it.
You've managed to reduce your coverage cost to less than I pay in a month, so you came up all cherries and a ringing bell right there.
