In fairness that is probably true of every ‘classic’ car when you look at them though! Very few would pass muster compared to much newer cars, yet loads of ‘classics’ are valued much higher. It’s just the way it is!

I was going to suggest not bothered buying a car and instead spend it on coke and hookers...

My E32. Even now it wouldn't break 2 grand on a good day. Therefore it's worth half as much as a rusty example of an inferior car that folk buy because it reminds them of the good old days, whatever they were.

Like Junkman, I owned a lot of these 'valuable' classics when they were bought by mere mortals and priced accordingly. That Granada Estate is worth 500 quid to me. It's fucked.
I sort of agree with you but the Granny is a much older rarer car that’s in more demand. Tbh, it’s totally irrelevant if it’s better as a car or not than a modern BMW. The desire to own one is not necessarily a reminder of ‘the good old days’ but it’s a toy someone wants because they like them.
I’d still have the Granada over your BMW, I just like Granada’s much more. That’s all there is to it. Plenty of other people would say the opposite.

That particular Granada is/was fucked, yes. The give away being the vinyl top. There’s only one reason you’d fit one to a car that didn’t have them in the first place! I wouldn’t have even bothered looking at it based purely on that. Plenty of others around though.

I've suggested an IROC and MILF's but your plan sounds like it may be cheaper in the long run.

I was going to view that Sprint today, but for reasons unbeknown to myself, I don't want to.
Besides, after insurance, transport and repairs I'd be knocking on £5k too which is a bit too much for an unknown quantity.

Whatever I'm buying is a long termer, I think I have a right to be a bit picky!
