I read that as you love sills
Sills and SIIIs are mutually exclusive. You can only love one or the other.

Must have been a LONG while back as I haven't driven the car since June 3rd 2017!!

just 10 minutes of looking back through my photo albums reveals a definite characteristic of owning such beasts:

Not true of the six cylinder ones though. Mine is incredibly reliable - it just works. The V12 is for the enthusiast really - the AJ6 versions are reasonably painless to own, rust aside. They're much easier than the SIII as well.

Is Max old enough to remember Mystic Meg? Might just be before his time.

(Just to make you feel old...)
I did wonder whether he'd know who she was, but you can't mistake what she's doing with that crystal ball in her mitts :-)

Mystic Meg is someone I've heard of/seen pictures of but that's about as far as my knowledge goes.

And it's 1995 you bastard.

I had an S3 exactly the same as yours (Cranberry with doeskin leather) and it was also a 'B' reg Sovereign with the nice alloys. it was a bloody good car and one of the most reliable Jaguars I have so far owned. It did scare the shit out of me once though: started it from cold as usual and within about a mile it was pouring black smoke out of the exhausts as the stupid car thought it was still cold and decided to remain on full enrichment! A handful of scrapyard sensors had it fixed for, well, nothing as I did the pocket thing! :)

I don't recall the injected 4;2 being that bad on fuel - mid-teens seems to be about right with a possibility of 20s if cruising at not too serious speeds. The V12 I just got shot of did 6. Yes, a whole SIX MPG so no wonder I did less than 300 miles in a year!
