Every time anyone claims for a windscreen, the premium for everyone goes up.
Including Hooli's, he just doesn't realise it.
Those fucking fascist insurance corporations aren't charities, dig?

I'm not certain that I agree with that.
My windscreen excesses have been either £50 or £75 so given that the insurance companies no doubt get a large volume discount from the windscreen fitters I doubt that it actually costs them anything.
The other side of this coin I guess is that if you go directly to them for a windscreen you get reamed.

Re: What did you do today?
Depends on the screen, I've always had Mrs' car as a named vehicle on a traders policy , paying extra for her business use. Always used the same bloke for windscreens and rarely had to pay more than £150 for a screen.
Last year her ML needed a screen, couldn't get one for less than £475! A policy with Admiral was £650 and I saved £250 from my traders renewel by taking her business use off. I was quite happy to pay £75 excess, but as I took it to my usual windscreen man, he waived that.
Lots of messing about, but I suppose it's better to have proper cover and get market rather than trade value if we ever have to claim.
