Why, all of a sudden am I lusting after a Ural?
They used to be cheap and crap, but by all accounts they have upped their game year on year, for the last few years.
Fuel injection, decent electrics, proper paint and more reliability.
A reverse gear would really be a bonus, mine hasn't got one and it is a pain, especially as it has very limited steering lock.
But fuck me, they are expensive now.

I've just found out my oil cooler is finally done! I'll go collect it saturday morning & fit it as soon as I'm home. See if I can remember how to ride my own bike for a change then.

Need to get my Cagiva Supercity MOTed and have the powervalve fixed, hopefully next weekend, probably the one after, I'll get it over to Mick Surmans and have it sorted.

I finally got to collect the bits this morning, they'd even almost done it right. The oil cooler mounting brackets are about 1/16" to far apart, but there is enough give in the rubber grommets to make it fit ok.

Fitted, warmed up & confirmed no leaks before sticking all the plastic back on.
100 mile later after popping out for a short* test run, it's all going great again.
Garage is giving me £200 back towards the costs and they've given me oil & filter for the next service. I'm happy with that, as I knew getting a cooler built was more expensive but it's piece of mind for when travelling. Oh I fitted tge gingercators on the back too, but didn't bother with pics as everyone knows what an indicator looks like.
I think I'll have to take it out tomorrow for more testing*.

Another 100 miles toddling between cafes with a few mates today, no one fancied a proper run so we just enjoyed the sun. It's still not leaking, so I'm claiming fixed.
We started off attending a memorial for a biker killed about a mile from my door, I didn't know him but a mate I ride with was his CBT instructor a few years ago.

Two pissed up fuckwits on drugs too racing around a blind bend over a crest left the lad on the bike no chance to avoid them, hence the big turn out. The view in the link below is roughly where the driver decided to overtake & hit the biker about halfway down the first bit of grass you can see on the right as the bike came up hill. It's also my route to work every time I go to site, so damn easy to imagine it happening.

I've been comparing two regular threads on Triumph & Suzuki forums & chucking to myself.
Suzuki forum - early Busa,GSX1000, GSX1400 front six pots are crap, always need rebuilding & feel really wooden so lets fit something else.
Triumph forum Sprint/Daytona/etc front four pots are crap, always need rebuilding & feel really wooden so lets fit six pots off early Busas...
Both types of brake are completely fine if they just rebuild them properly & maintained them.
Bike owners eh?

I have to say the well maintained and freshly serviced 6 pots on my Hayabusa were terrible and the 4 pots on my Triumph's were leagues apart in feel and capability, the 6 pots really didn't feel capable of stopping 250kgs of bike and rider from 170mph+ with any alacrity, it was a shock getting off a street triple with radial brembos on to the Suzuki that was for sure.
