It looks OK to me. In fact, better than the white 3.4 Series 2 I bought back in 1988.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 8:30 pmThat is near me, the seller seems to find a succession of cars like that which need recommisioning. He's had quite a few Jensen Interceptors, Rolls Royce and Bentleys.SiC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 5:00 pm This keeps getting relisted at ever decreasing amounts.
As tempting as it might be, you know it will need a whole load of money throwing at it very quickly.

Luckily I now accept that recommisioning a car is not something that I'm up to so I'll give it a miss

Sorry never tried to do a Marketplace link before.
It’s got a Polo engine, runs and drives but needs finishing, obvs.
Who do we know that might have done this...

That XJ will be a nightmare. Been there, done that. They are a nice museum exhibit but as a car to use, forget it. There is only one way to buy one of those and that's to spend a lot of money buying a perfect example that has been maintained regardless of cost. Anything less is a big hole into which you shovel lots of tens and twenties.

Re: EBay Finds
They were worthwhile things when a replacement car cost £400/500 out of any newsagent window or evening paper. There is probably little price disparity now between a good 'un and an utter dog, certainly not to the point you could find another one cheaply.
