Not sure if there is going to be much interest on this one as it's not a classic car, but I'll start the thread for now anyway.
Tomorrow I'm off to sort out and get running a free car. As we all know a free car is not actually free. This has been sat for nearly two years and I have no idea if it will actually run.
If I do get it running and moving, then I'll be arranging a collection to have it transported home or to my local friendly garage to be MOT'd.

Re: Revival of a free car
I've never got a free car in my life. The closest I came was an ex Bundespost Beetle I got for a bottle of wine, because its owner thought it'll never pass another TÜV. Imagine his surprise when it passed after fitting a set of uncracked part worns and changing the king pin bushes.

Re: Revival of a free car
Tool list. First item is very important for this car. Especially as the battery has been flat for at least a year.
The car also speaks, so it'll be interesting to see what it has to tell me when it's powered up again.Re: Revival of a free car
I got a free car once, it was an eight year old Skoda Estelle.
Got 6 months out of it before it completely crapped out.

Re: Revival of a free car
About 15 years ago when scrap was on it's arse I got a few free cars. the highlights were a 2 cylinder citroen visa. a mazda rx7. a 5 year old rover 214 and a 3500s rover P6. Sold them all on after getting them running for a nice profit.

You could leave 99% of that behind and add the 2 vital elements you missed out - the set of plates that are taxed and your AA card once you have dragged it onto the road.
