"The owner" is on here....
So you don't think much of my repairs. OK, tell me what you would have done. The applicable circumstances are:
48-year-old car is outdoors, in public, 24/7/365. No possibility of indoor space.
Owner is recovering from career-ending brain surgery, and has a tiny fraction of the strength and stamina he used to have. and is literally "lucky to be alive."
Funds are not just tight, they are terminal. Situation ongoing, no light at the end of this tunnel.
Tools available are largely hand variety; all old and much-used, and reliably hiding when required.
The bodywork damage in question is non-structural.

The choices are:
1. Scrap the thing. Not going to happen. The car has been with me five years; longer than any other American car I've owned, and longer in-service than any car at all in my past.
2. Sell. Possibly, but unpalatable.
3. Pay someone to do the repairs to professional standards, including waiting months for used parts from American scrapyards. Not possible.
4. Do what I can myself (unaided).
As you can see, I took option 4, but have to face the fact that this car really needs someone with better skills and preferably a large workshop. Since that person isn't me, option 2 is activated.

Now please, do tell me which option you would have taken, with details of exactly how. Question is open to anyone reading this.

Sorry Eddy but the car isn't really viable, but you did what you could for it and that is ok if you can live with it. Unfortunately we know how rough it is under all the filler so will struggle to see it at more than breaker money. I do hope you can get what you need from it but I do think the poor old things days are numbered. Classic cars are great but the fuckers will rot away in no time if not kept indoors.
Edited to add I was interested in it a couple of years ago as I do fancy trying a Caddy to compare to the RR'S / Bentleys but I think I dodged a major bullet there.
