Re: MLOR Back Again
It's the rear arches/door shuts, sills and B post feet and rear cross member that are gone on mine. Still undecided whether to save it, off road it or scrap it.
Re: MLOR Back Again
Sills, post feet are simple to do and mostly just need flat sheet with a few right angle bends. The rear door shut panels that are available are pressed in quite thin metal, so best to repair what you can of the original panel.
Rear wheel boxes can be fabbed up from sheet for a lot less than the replacement panels. Never had to do a rear cross member yet (Just a question of time! ).
Really it depends what you want of the car and what you would get to replace it.
I recollect that you have a bit of space to just park it and a building project to be getting on with !

Yep and I have three broken cars sitting on my drive ahead of the disco in the queue. Not to mention the hymac I'm currently dismembering.

Re: MLOR Back Again
I did a 300 TDi rear body crossmember a few years ago, it was a massive ball-ache. I posted a thread about it on the beige forum. IIRC it took over 100 hours and 24 different pieces of metal to grind off all the rot & replicate the original crossmember & body mounts, although I could probably have saved time & effort by cutting a few corners.

Yeah, I'd not be in a hurry to fabricate one from scratch again
