Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
Trying to keep this corner of the shed clear and failing. Whilst one light is up, I haven't decided where the next one is going. The rear quarter panel is massively in the way.
So time for more loop hooks and rope. It was a bit of a cunt stretching over to drill a couple of holes over on the far wall, what with all the quality used spares being in the way.
And drag it up and out the way.

You have to be here. It's not like I can phone the likes of Moss up and have it delivered yesterday.
I really should find and get a 250 to fit that Rickman Typhoon though.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
One of the things I recently retrieved was this outdoor table. I think the late Mother Honda had it made by a blacksmith to be an outdoor barbecue table of sorts. As I've long needed a bench in my shed, I've decided to convert it into a decent workbench.
The legs are 40 x 40 x 3 with 50 x 50 x 10 footpads. The leg braces are 30 x 10 flat bar, as are the edges of the table and centre underside support and the top is made up of 50 x 5 strips. It's fairly heavy and the top measures 1300 x 900 and is 800 tall.
As the shed doorway is only 870mm wide, it'll have to go in sideways.
Today, I collected a top to attach to it.
I've gone way overboard and had it cut and bent from 10mm thick steel...

The proper way to do it is buy 5 years ago when steel was cheap...

Fuck me, I know it's gone up a lot but that seems pretty steep!

Fuckin hell!
I noticed today plumbing fittings and the like have almost doubled over the last few weeks. A 40mm solvent elbow has gone from 59p to £1.10.
10 x 22mm end feed connectors were £6.

I checked FH Brundle to see how much a single sheet was:Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 11:49 pm Fuck me, I know it's gone up a lot but that seems pretty steep!
https://www.fhbrundle.co.uk/groups/30MSS10__10mm_Thick
£429 for 2000 X 1000
£625 for 2500 X 1250
Donkey years back, I bought three 2500 X 1250 sheet in 1.0mm, 1.2mm along with a 0.9mm Zintec. Was probably around 30 yo-yos a sheet with the VAT. I must of kept the receipt somewhere.
Now:
1.0mm £73
1.2mm £92
1.0mm zintec (can't find 0.9 on Brundles) £129!!
Given that piece is laser cut 980 X 1300 with a bend in it and I didn't bother shopping around (supporting the local economy and not pissing around transporting things)
