Tempting fate - things that have lasted a long time (and what didn't)

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I know the history of my Passat back about 16 years, 9 with me and before that my dad, prior to him my sister's ex.
It's not had any major components in that 16 years, as far as I can tell the exhaust, turbo, engine, box etc etc etc are all original - possibly the clutch too - certainly hasn't been changed while it's been in the family.
It's had the usual supension arms, pads, discs and servicing but nothing else to speak of,
Currently 261,000 miles and approaching 24 years old. Over 100K miles are mine

Owned from new by fathers friend for 4 years.
Then owned by fathers brother in law for 4 years.
Then father for 4 years.

Things that didn't-my patience with fixing the rust on my Mercedes W202. Like chasing Usain Bolt.
