Re: What did you do today?
Clambered under the back of the Jaag to check out the condition of the rear subframe, because I am paranoid after the SLK ad because it is a known weak spot on them. Never been mentioned on any MOT but I had to look...
It's fine!
Bits of surface rust here and there and the same on the fuel tank straps but overall, very good. So in a fit of enthusiasm, I clambered back under with light and tins of clear Waxoyl and proceeded to cover everything in the gloop including myself of course! I 'think' I've got most of it and the tank straps. I did spray Bella's nose slightly as she was insistent on helping and she can get under the back of the car faster than I can tell her to 'Fuck off you irritating twat!'
I am now so thin I can fit under the back of the car without any jacking up, I am just fading away it seems.
Also, the bloody rear parking sensors have gone nuts after I parked it close to a fence earlier and now as soon as I put it in reverse the sensors just do a constant intense shriek. Cleaned them, no change, dosed them in WD40, not change, polished them with Mr Sheen and... they seem to be either irrepablyy broken or fixed as the noise is now gone. I'm calling that a win for furniture polish!

I remember when some mechanical petrol pumps couldn't read a high enough price, similarly them scales are redundant cos they only go to 20 stone.

Almost everyone in the wee car club I'm in has a land rover, so we had an off-road day.

Went to the Great British Car Journey. Found several joyous automobiles including this delightful Mayflower. Yes I know they’re terrible, slow and ugly, but I’ve always fancied one.
Nice Hereford.
This Princess was fit, it only had 19k on it and was mint inside and out.

Spent most of the weekend being chauffeured in my mates Allegro. 1100 DL, surprisingly nippy!

Took the Tronda out for a hurl up to Aberfoyle and Callander, because Drive It Day. Failed to take any good photos of it.
Saw a convoy of Rover P6s (with a cheeky W115 Merc hiding amongst them), a Spridget, TR7 (the only person to wave), three pre-A MGs, Jag S Type a bay window VW camper, late T25 and about a billion million motorcycles of various types. Including one modern sports bike thing who's owner insisted on bouncing off the redline and giving me a ringing ear.
