Re: Rattle Can Painting (and use of strimmers etc)
Vinyl is good, unlike paint, it doesn't burst and crack open when the rust underneath gets crisp.
People have this innate hatred of vinyl roofs for this reason yet they're perfectly happy to wrap the whole bloody car.
Whereas I have perfected the art.
✓ 3D effect
✓ Bubbles captured in paint
✓ Wrong color
✓ Wrong gloss
✓ Rust stain
✓ Prominent part of car

Have you been referring to SiC's thread for tips?PhilA wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:01 pm Vinyl is good, unlike paint, it doesn't burst and crack open when the rust underneath gets crisp.

It really isn't difficult. Prep is everything. If it doubt, spray it on dry with lots of coats and flat/polish it later.
This bootlid was a Halfords rattle can job.

You haven't seen the ropey S3 round the corner from me. It's white and looks to have had a white wrap. It's starting to rust and the wrap is peeling all over.
It's on it's last mot I reckon although the engine is fit. I often see him caning it in the 20mph zones around here. I must call him a wanker the next time I see him.
