There's probably a report that appears on the manager's computer screen about how much you've been using the heater - fired for using it too much.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
Got back home at 12.45am. Much relieved to jump into the shower and unwind with a Proper Job.
No polis, customs or guard action to report. I rolled up short of security at Cairnryan and mashed a wet phone screen with wet hands and booked my ticket for the 7.30pm online at 6.39pm. Exceptionally rare for to be no spaces and yes, I was the only motorcycle. Why the fuck would anyone pay £10 more for a flexi ticket? Just book at the last minute, it's always the same price for motorcycle unlike cars.
Came off the motorway and went the back roads home past Tayto Park and Fairyhouse racecourse. Coming down the N2 I realised that my heated grips had started working. Strange. Hard work as the headlamp could do with adjusting down a bit
Everything appears intact so far. Not only did I have the bike loaded up as per two wheels good thread, I also had a backpack on. Didn't leave me much room for shuffling about in the saddle on both 2h+ legs of the journey. Fantastic to get back in my own comfy bed!

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
Today it was dry so I cut the grass. Lawn mower unusually didn't want to restart after my first bit of mowing, so that wasted an extra half hour. I finish and pack up around 3pm.
Finally get round to going to work aannnnd it's the return of the shagged starter! Bollocks. As Mrs H is away for the day with the kids, I wheel it round to the front drive and start stripping the fairing. I opted to raid the starter from No 1. RT by lifting that side of the cover just enough because I can't be arsed. Eventually get the motor out, but the dowel pin (that this one still has) is firmly stuck in the block. Tried attacking it with FIRE, but no good, it didn't want to come out, so I left. Putting it into the bike was uneventful, but it didn't sound too great, but started. Tried a couple of other positions, the thought sod it, that'll do.
I bet that plate at the back of the planetary gears has fallen off again. I'm now even more amazed I got 5 starts out of it and won the starter roulette game coming back the other night.

Luckily you've got a yard full of other vehicles so just took one of them?Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 9:42 pm Today it was dry so I cut the grass. Lawn mower unusually didn't want to restart after my first bit of mowing, so that wasted an extra half hour. I finish and pack up around 3pm.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
JIZZ UPDATE
An ongoing problem with this car is the tailgate lock. It always locks, but doesn't always unlock on first press of the remote. Sometimes it needs a couple of presses. Sometime more than that and sometimes I just have to resort to climbing in the boot and doing it manually.
A parcel finally arrived after just over 3 weeks since ordering. In it were a couple of these from The Great Bunch of Lads...
74896-SAA-E01 / 74896SAAE01 taiglate lock actuator. The reason for the €10 AliExpress purchase was NLA from Honda and the same stuff from EU sellers is €30.
As it was forecast to piss down today, I did this yesterday. The removal of the inner trim was done earlier (well last October when I last looked at it for the NCT) and three screws hold the lock assembly to the tailgate.
Swing it down through the hole
Then unplug the two green loom plugs. and remove the two screws holding the white cover on. Then the three screws that hold the actuator onto the lock.
Then compare the old with the new. Physically the same, but, ahh.
The old one has 2 x 2 pin, the new one just has 1 x 2 pin. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Obviously the extra two pins are there for something, but it's not immediately apparent.
The old actuator has a load of wear in the actuating arm, so much that it fails to throw the lock all the way to open stop.
The new one works every time, because of the full throw it has.
Put i all back together. Then put the interior trim board back on that's has been living under Honda Jr 2's bed for months.
Later I found the hand grab insert under there too. I've misplaced the two plastic trim buttons to actually clip the bottom edge of the board back in the place.
I might look inside the old one, but unlike Civic ones the casings are glued together. Bastards.

Old glued unit finally prised apart
A position cut-out switch of some sort. Can't see it on the wiring diagram. I'll worry about it when the car explodes in a death fireball.

Can you rotate the wheel 180 degrees so it acts on the good teeth.
